Connect the Ferrite to the Ethernet Cable

To comply with FCC regulations, you need to attach the ferrite (included in the

kit) to your Ethernet cable.

The ferrite reduces signal noise from an unshielded Ethernet cable. Installing the

ferrite will not affect the normal operation of the uControl Link or the Ethernet

cable.

Step 1: Clamp the ferrite onto the Ethernet cable

• Attach the ferrite to the Ethernet cable

a. Locate the ferrite in the uControl kit.

b. Open the ferrite and place it about 1 inch from the end of the Ethernet cable where it

connects to the router.

c. Place the Ethernet cable into the groove on the bottom half of the ferrite.

d. Close the top half of the ferrite around the Ethernet cable, pressing it firmly to lock it

onto the Ethernet cable.
